How to download your photos from Dropbox.

SRK Headshot Day

Debbie Leight of Computers Made Easy from her SRK Headshot day photo.

When your retouched SRK Headshot Day photos are ready to go, we will send a link to your Dropbox Folder. There will be high-resolution photos in one folder and web-sized photos in the another. Each photo will be cropped three ways for different uses. You are going to want to download these correctly.

We asked Computers-Made-Easy‘s Debbie Leight to write instructions for downloading from either a Mac or PC. Here are the instructions:

1. If you don’t have one already, sign up for a Dropbox Account at Dropbox.com.
2. When done, let Scott R. Kline know which email address you used for your account so that he can share your photos with you there.
3. You will receive an email when your photos are ready to view. The subject line will read: Scott R Kline shared “[YOUR NAME] Headshots” with you.
4. Read the message in the email from Scott, then click on the link at the bottom of the message that says “Click here to view [YOUR NAME] Headshots”.
5. A web browser will open up to a page with a number of folders listed (eg All_Shots, Scotts_Faves).
6. In the top right corner of the page, click on the blue button that says “Download”, then click the option “Save to my Dropbox”.
7. You will either go straight into your account, or be asked to “sign in” using the email address and password you set up in Step 1.
8. At the top of the page, you will see “Dropbox > YOUR NAME Headshots”, click on the word “Dropbox” (in blue) to go back to your main Dropbox folder.
8. Then, look for the folder “[YOUR NAME] Headshots” and download the photos onto your computer:
Mac: Holding down the command key, click on the folder name to reveal options. Let go of the command key. Then, click “Download”
PC: Right click on the folder name and then (left) click “Download”
9. Choose where you want your photos folder to be saved. I recommend putting these in your Pictures folder. To do so, click “Pictures” in the left sidebar, then click “Save”.
10. To find and view your pictures:
Mac: Open Finder and double click into the Pictures folder
PC: Open Windows Explorer (Shortcut key: Hold down Windows key, tap E) and double click into Pictures folder

Thanks Debbie!
